THE COALITION FOR ACCESS, AFFORDABILITY, & SUCCESS – “The Coalition” will be administering a new college application alternative to 80+ member colleges and universities. (It is likely these schools will accept the Common App as well as the “Coalition App.”) The Coalition App is set to open in April 2016, and will have sections open to high school students as young as 3rd formers. RESOURCES FOR LGBTQ STUDENTS & ALLIES
Campus Pride is an organization that strives to create safer and more inclusive college and university campuses and provides resources for programs, services, and leadership development for LGBTQ students and allies. Among the resources Campus Pride has are a series of college fairs and an index to assess benchmarks for creating safer and more inclusive environments on campus.
The Human Rights Campaign is an LGBTQ civil rights advocacy group focused on protecting the rights of LGBTQ individuals. HRC has created a resource for applying to college as an LGBTQ student and an LGBTQ scholarship database.
FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIP INFO
FAFSA: the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, administered by the US Department of Education, is an application to determine eligibility for financial aid from the US government. Only US citizens and permanent residents are eligible to submit the FAFSA.

CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE: The College Scholarship Service financial aid application is distributed by the College Board. The CSS PROFILE is administered by many, not all, colleges and universities, and determines eligibility for financial aid from institutional funds.
