5th Form

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Educational Testing Service has announced a special home version of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the exam that many colleges and universities require of applicants whose first language was not English or who have lived a significant part of their lives in a country where English is not the primary language.

Kent’s College Counseling Team urges all current 5th formers who fit into one of the above categories to have a TOEFL test on their record within the two calendar years prior to applying to college (for instance, a student applying this fall should have a score registered more recently than Nov. 1, 2018.)  As of now, the only students who are not eligible for this special version of the TOEFL are residents of mainland China, though ETS says it is working on options for those students as well.
