The cancellation of test dates for the ACT and SAT has justifiably caused colleges and universities across the country to rethink the place of standardized testing in their assessment of applicants. Within just the past week, many schools—and even entire state systems like the University of California consortium—have announced that they are making significant adjustments to their testing policies for the foreseeable future.
However, even those schools moving to “test-optional” policies will still accept tests from those applicants who choose to submit them. Therefore, we encourage Kent students—particularly 5th formers—to continue to seek avenues for test preparation, as we hope that conditions allow both the ACT and SAT to offer dates this fall. Kent continues to partner with Kaplan to offer our students access to their tools and resources, and Kaplan has just made some adjustments to their offerings, as demonstrated in this recent newsletter.
