Whether it’s during spring break or over the summer, it’s important for high school students to visit as many colleges as possible for their college search process. (Obviously distance, cost, and other factors will limit each family’s ability to go on visits.) On these visits, students will gradually start to assess all the different attributes at each institution–many of which they might not have known existed before visiting–and they will soon be able to justify their positive and negative reactions about each college or university. If you’re going on a family vacation, consider adding college visits to that trip, and check out the U.S. News & World Report article below which shares some advice from students and families that have gone through this already.
Remember, if you can’t visit a school, don’t fret! Check out our post about YouVisit, a company which provides software for virtual college tours.
