Gap years are a break (typically a year long) between secondary school graduation and college, during which a student spends time in an academic (or other) program or has a specific plan for the year to accomplish certain goals before enrolling in college. Gap years can be for the student looking for more adventure before attending college or for the student who is not yet ready for college. The English-Speaking Union of the United States offers a unique gap year opportunity where students can attend a British boarding school for a year. The scholarship provides students with tuition, room, and board for the full-year experience.
A representative from the English-Speaking Union Scholarship Committee is coming to Kent the first day back from Thanksgiving break (Tuesday, November 28th) to speak to all Juniors at their class meeting (during Chapel-time) about the scholarship. (Seniors, if this is of interest to you, contact your college counselor to obtain permission to attend.) For more information about this opportunity, click here or on the attached flyer.
